Abdoul Kabir Ouedraogo: FC Sheriff eye move for Burkina Faso striker from Rahimo FC

Burkina Faso striker Abdoul Kabir Ouedraogo of Rahimo FC is being linked with a move to Moldovan Super Liga side FC Sheriff as the Tiraspol club explore attacking reinforcements. The 18-year-old, who plays as a central striker, has emerged as a reported target as Sheriff look to add youthful options at the top end of the pitch ahead of the new campaign.

Ouedraogo is currently on the books of Rahimo FC, one of Burkina Faso’s leading clubs, and remains under contract there. Talks between the clubs have not been disclosed, but Sheriff’s interest is understood to be focused on the player’s potential to develop in a European league set-up rather than on past achievements.

The teenager has already had a brief taste of continental competition with Rahimo, making an appearance in the CAF Champions League. He featured once in the tournament, coming off the bench and playing 21 minutes, a small but notable step into senior international club football at his age.

A move to Sheriff would represent Ouedraogo’s first transfer outside Burkina Faso, with the Moldovan champions regularly recruiting from African leagues to refresh their squad. For now, he continues as a member of Rahimo’s attack, with no indication yet that his contractual ties to the Burkinabe side have been resolved to facilitate a transfer.
