Abdou-Rahmane Thior: Senegal-born midfielder joins Frejus Saint-Raphael on free transfer

Senegal-born midfielder Abdou-Rahmane Thior has joined French club Frejus Saint-Raphael on a free transfer from FC 93 Bobigny. The 24-year-old central midfielder, who also holds French nationality, makes the move into National 1 Group C after his switch was finalised on 28 July 2026.

Thior arrives at Frejus Saint-Raphael having built up consistent experience in the French lower divisions, operating primarily as a central midfielder and favouring his right foot. Standing at 1.88m, he offers a physically imposing presence in the middle of the pitch and adds depth to the club’s options in the centre of the park.

The move is the latest step in a career that has seen Thior progress steadily through the French system. He joined FC 93 Bobigny earlier in 2026, also on a free transfer, after a spell with Vannes, and had previously represented SC Bastia B and Brest B following his early development in youth and under-age sides at Vannes and Lorient.

Across recent National 2 campaigns, Thior has accumulated close to 90 appearances, contributing goals and assists from midfield. His most productive season came with 38 league appearances and five goals in National 2 Group E, while he has also found the net in the Coupe de France during his senior career.

Born in Bassoul in March 2002, Thior now commits his immediate future to Frejus Saint-Raphael, completing a permanent free transfer from FC 93 Bobigny as the club strengthen ahead of the new National 1 Group C season.
