Algerian attacking midfielder Abderrahmane Berkoune has joined CR Temouchent on a free transfer from Libyan side Abelashhar. The 26-year-old, who operates primarily as a central attacking midfielder, moves back to Algerian football after a brief spell in the Libyan Premier League.

Berkoune arrives at CR Temouchent with experience in Algerias top flight, having made 94 Ligue 1 appearances earlier in his career. During that time he scored once and provided three assists, amassing more than 5,500 minutes of league action, as well as featuring in domestic cup competitions and the CAF Confederation Cup, where he registered an assist.

The right-footed midfielder, who stands at 1.73m, had joined Abelashhar in November 2025 after a short period without a club. His move to Libya followed a long association with Paradou AC, where he progressed from the youth ranks and first broke into senior football after stepping up from Paradous U21 side in 2020.

Berkoune also spent time on loan at RC Arbaa from Paradou, with that spell later being made permanent before a return to his parent club. His performances in Algeria earned him a market valuation of 75,000 at the time of his switch to CR Temouchent.

Born on 13 March 2000, Berkoune now returns to Ligue 1 aiming to re-establish himself in his home country, with CR Temouchent securing his services on a free transfer.
