Abdelrahman Boudah has completed a move from Japanese side Albirex Niigata to Swedish club Västerås SK in a permanent transfer, returning to a familiar environment in his home country. The 26‑year‑old left winger arrives with a current market valuation of €900k and has been officially registered as a Västerås SK player. His contract with the Allsvenskan club runs from 08/03/2026 to 31/12/2028.
The deal ends Boudah’s stint in Japan’s J2/J3 Special Season with Albirex Niigata and restores him to the Swedish system where he has spent the majority of his professional career. While the fee has not been disclosed, the transfer is recorded as a standard move rather than a loan or free transfer, underlining Västerås SK’s commitment to securing his services on a long-term basis.
For Västerås SK, the signing adds a proven attacking option on the left flank, with Boudah’s main position listed as attack – left winger. Standing at 1.86 m, he brings an unusual blend of height and pace in wide areas, attributes that previously drew interest from several Allsvenskan sides and took his market value as high as €1.2m during his time at Hammarby IF.
Born in Göteborg on 13/08/1999, Boudah represents both Sweden and Algeria in terms of nationality, and his dual background has been a notable feature of his profile since his early days. He progressed from Norrby IF U19 to the Norrby IF first team in 2017, making the step up in Swedish football before earning a move to Degerfors IF in 2021. His performances there saw his valuation climb steadily, eventually securing a transfer to Stockholm club Hammarby IF in 2022.
Boudah’s career path has been characterised by steady upward movement through Swedish divisions and then abroad. After spells with Norrby IF and Degerfors IF, he joined Hammarby IF, where he experienced both peaks and dips in market value but remained a recognised attacking asset in the Allsvenskan. In 2024 he first moved to Västerås SK on loan from Hammarby, before returning to his parent club at the end of that spell. A subsequent switch to Albirex Niigata in 2025 marked his first venture outside Sweden and into Japanese football.
At Albirex Niigata, his valuation settled at €900k by the end of 2025, reflecting his status as a significant squad member in the J2/J3 Special Season. The latest move brings him back to Västerås SK, now as a permanent signing, and places him once more in the Swedish top flight with the possibility of re‑establishing himself among the league’s more valuable attacking players.
With several of his earlier contracts in Sweden reaching their natural expiry and his recent stay in Japan now concluded, Boudah’s long-term future is tied to Västerås SK until 31/12/2028. Should the club choose not to extend that agreement, the winger could become a free agent at the end of the deal, making this period potentially decisive for his next career step.
Having already played in Sweden’s Allsvenskan and Japan’s J2/J3 set-up, Boudah now carries experience from two different football cultures back into a Västerås side aiming to consolidate at the top level. His confirmed return offers him a platform in a league he knows well, and the coming seasons will determine whether he can convert his €900k valuation and varied club history into a sustained impact that shapes both his reputation in Sweden and his appeal on the wider European market once his current contract nears its end.
