Abdelmoumen Djabou in Demand as Espérance and Club Africain Battle for His Signature
Recovering from a knee surgery that has sidelined him since April, Algerian international Abdelmoumen Djabou is on the lookout for a new club—and interest is mounting fast.
Currently a free agent, Djabou has no shortage of suitors, with Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis reportedly making a strong push to secure his services. According to Shems FM, emissaries from the Sang et Or are in Algeria negotiating with the attacking midfielder, aiming to convince him to join their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
But Espérance are not alone in the race. Djabou is also set to meet with Club Africain’s sporting director Oussema Sellami in the coming hours. The Algerian previously played for the Tunis-based side and has a strong connection with the club, which is hoping to bring him back.
In a recent statement, Djabou confirmed that he had received offers from clubs in Tunisia, Algeria, and the Gulf region. Among the Tunisian contenders, Espérance appears to be the most aggressive in pursuing the 28-year-old, though Club Africain is firmly in the mix.
Reports also indicate that Espérance are eyeing a potential reunion with another former Algerian star—Youssef Belaili—as they look to bolster their creative options in midfield.
Djabou, known for his technical flair and vision, will be a major addition wherever he lands—provided he can return to full fitness after his long injury layoff.
