Abdelillah Barkat: Algeria winger joins CR Temouchent on free transfer
Algerian winger Abdelillah Barkat has joined CR Temouchent on a free transfer from MC El Bayadh.
The 29-year-old left-sided attacker, born in Ain El Turck, moves to the Ligue 1 club after leaving El Bayadh at the end of his spell there, with the deal completed on 24 July 2026. Barkat is valued at around €175,000 and is primarily deployed as a left winger, cutting in from the flank on his right foot.
Barkat arrives at Temouchent with substantial top-flight experience, having made 129 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists. Across those games he has accumulated 7,797 minutes, underlining a consistent presence at this level of competition.
The move marks the latest step in a career built within Algerian football. Barkat previously signed for MC El Bayadh from RC Relizane in 2022, also on a free transfer, after earlier spells including time at IS Tighennif. His performances in the top division have helped maintain his status as a reliable wide option, capable of contributing both in open play and in cup competitions, where he has also featured in the Coupe d’Algerie and Coupe de la Ligue.
Standing at 1.82m, Barkat adds height as well as experience to Temouchent’s attacking options and strengthens their left flank ahead of the new campaign.
The transfer sees Barkat registered as a CR Temouchent player with immediate effect following his departure from MC El Bayadh on a free transfer.
