Egyptian side Modern Sport has turned to the experienced Abdelhak Benchikha to steer the club forward, appointing him as head coach following the departure of Frenchman Franck Dumas.
The Algerian tactician, known for his disciplined approach and tactical acumen, now takes the reins as the team looks to make a strong push in the Nile League.
Alongside Benchikha, the club has introduced a revamped technical team, featuring Abd AlHaleem Ali as Director of Football, with Farid Zemiti, Ahmed Saleh, and Daniel Jiménez serving as assistant coaches. The backroom staff also includes Farid Belmalat as goalkeeper coach and Kamel Boujnan as fitness coach, with a performance analyst set to arrive soon.
Before joining Modern Sport, Benchikha managed JS Kabylie, leading the Algerian club to eight wins, three draws, and four losses in 15 matches. His tenure ended abruptly in January under contentious circumstances, but his wealth of experience—spanning club and international football—makes him a key figure in Modern Sport’s ambitions for the season.
