Abdelhadi Rashed joins Montakhab El Suez Petrojet ahead of Egyptian Premier League debut

Montakhab El Suez Petrojet have completed the signing of Palestinian footballer Abdelhadi Rashed as the newly merged club prepares for its first Egyptian Premier League campaign.

The club finalised the deal to bring Rashed into its squad on Friday, 7 August 2026. He will now represent Montakhab El Suez Petrojet as they begin life in the top flight following the merger of Montakhab El Suez and Petrojet.

Montakhab El Suez Petrojet will open their league campaign away to Asyut Petroleum on Saturday, 22 August, at Asyut Cement Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick off at 17:00 local time.

The Egyptian Premier League is due to start on 21 August, with the first phase scheduled to end on 20 February. The second phase is set to begin on 8 March, while the season is expected to conclude on 28 May.

That timetable could be amended if changes are required to the May schedule because of the finals of continental competitions, according to Taha Ezzat, chairman of the competitions committee.
