USM Alger have emerged as early leaders in Group C of the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup, with two wins and a draw in their first three matches.

While the team’s collective efforts have been impressive, it is Abdelfetah Belkacemi who has stolen the spotlight, playing a pivotal role in their success.

The 31-year-old striker has been instrumental in USM Alger’s strong start, contributing directly to six of the nine goals scored by the team in the group stages.

Belkacemi’s goal-scoring prowess was on full display during the opening matches, as he netted two goals in both the opening game against Orapa United and again in their recent 4-1 victory over ASEC Mimosas on December 15, 2024.

Beyond his goal-scoring abilities, Belkacemi has also demonstrated his vision and playmaking skills, registering two assists in the match against Orapa United.

His ability to both finish chances and create opportunities for his teammates has made him a key figure in USM Alger’s attack.

His performances have not only earned him the top scorer position in the competition but have also firmly established him as the standout player of the tournament so far.

Belkacemi’s four goals and two assists have been central to USM Alger’s dominance in their group, and his leadership on the pitch has been vital in propelling them to the top.

Coach Nabil Maâloul, who has been delighted with Belkacemi’s form, will be counting on the striker to continue delivering in the coming rounds.

The player’s ability to perform under pressure, combined with his experience, has made him a crucial asset for the team.

Maâloul believes that with continued support and confidence, Belkacemi can further elevate his game and continue to be a driving force in USM Alger’s pursuit of CAF Confederation Cup glory.

As the tournament progresses, Abdelfetah Belkacemi’s impressive form stands as a testament to his quality and leadership, with USM Alger’s chances of success firmly linked to his continued contributions.
