Abdel Wahed El Sayed, former football director of Zamalek SC, has taken a clear step to end the swirling rumors about his recent visit to the club.
Speaking on Wednesday, El Sayed stated that his presence at the club’s headquarters was to formally request a financial clearance from the board, led by Hussein Labib.
“My presence at the club’s headquarters in order to respond to the false news, where I submitted an official request to the Board of Directors headed by Hussein Labib, in order to obtain a financial clearance,” El Sayed told Kooora.
According to the Zamalek legend, this move is unprecedented in the club’s history, he believes it’s the first time a former official has formally sought financial discharge after stepping down.
“I believe that this request is happening for the first time in the history of Zamalek, and that someone wants to obtain a financial innocence after his departure from office.”
He added that the club has promised to provide the financial discharge early next week, confirming there are no issues or disputes with the current management.
