Abdallah Ouazzane’s story took an unexpected turn, but not a downward one.
After his dream move to Real Madrid fell apart, Ajax Amsterdam quickly stepped up to give the 16-year-old Moroccan talent a renewed path forward.
Voetbal International reports that Ajax has agreed to offer Ouazzane a fresh professional contract running until summer 2028. This comes after Real Madrid withdrew from a planned transfer, reportedly over concerns stemming from medical tests.
But Ouazzane didn’t let the disappointment weigh him down. He underwent new tests at the University Medical Center in Amsterdam, where he was cleared with full confidence. The results gave Ajax the green light to push ahead with their plans.
Sources close to the club confirm the new deal is expected to be signed next week, even as interest from other European sides builds.
Ouazzane had been on the verge of joining Real Madrid’s Castilla squad as part of the club’s youth project. The collapse of that deal may have seemed like a setback, but Ajax’s belief in the young midfielder has given him a new and exciting direction.
