Aaron Bibout: Lazio eye move for Cameroon and Genk striker

Cameroon forward Aaron Bibout of Genk is being linked with a move to Serie A side Lazio as the Italian club explore options to bolster their attack.

The 21-year-old centre-forward, under contract with the Belgian club until June 2029, has emerged as a potential target after making an impact in the Jupiler Pro League and European competition. Lazio are monitoring the situation as they weigh up whether Genk’s valuation, understood to be in the region of his current €3.5 million market value, would allow a deal to be done.

Bibout joined Genk from Swedish side Vasteras SK in July 2025 for a reported €2.2m fee and has since worked his way into the first-team picture. He has featured in both the Jupiler Pro League and the club’s Europa League campaign, scoring three goals in ten league appearances and adding further minutes across Europe and domestic cup competitions.

The 1.93m striker, born in Yaounde in September 2004, built his reputation with productive spells in the United States and Scandinavia before his move to Belgium, registering double figures in goals in both the Challenger Pro League and MLS Next Pro. His form in Belgium’s second tier with Genk’s set-up, where he scored ten times in 16 appearances, accelerated his promotion towards regular top-flight involvement.

Genk are under no pressure to sell given the length of Bibout’s contract and the fee they invested last summer, and there have been no indications so far that negotiations are advanced. For now, Bibout remains part of Genk’s plans as he continues his development under a long-term deal running to 2029.
