Aaron Bibout: Cameroon forward at Genk linked with move to Strasbourg in Ligue 1 switch

Cameroonian centre-forward Aaron Bibout is being linked with a move from Belgian side Genk to Ligue 1 club Strasbourg as the French outfit explore options to strengthen their attack. The 21-year-old, who plays in the Jupiler Pro League, has emerged as a potential target for the Alsace club as they assess forward options ahead of the new campaign.

Strasbourg, established in France’s top flight, are understood to be focusing on adding a central striker, with Bibout fitting the profile of a young attacking player already tested in a competitive European league. Any deal is likely to be complex, however, with the striker under contract at Genk until 30 June 2029, giving the Belgian club a strong negotiating position.

Bibout’s valuation currently stands at around €3.5 million, a figure that provides a rough indication of the level at which talks would need to begin if Strasbourg decide to formalise their interest. Genk have earned a reputation for developing and selling on talent, but the length of the player’s existing deal means they are under no pressure to sanction a departure in this window.
