The 20th matchday of the Senegal Pro Football League 1 is set to kick off this weekend, featuring a highly anticipated clash between Casa Sports of Ziguinchor and Jaraaf of Dakar. Both teams are in contention for the league title.
The match, scheduled for Sunday at the Kolda stadium, is expected to draw a large crowd. Currently leading the championship with 34 points, Jaraaf will aim to avoid the same fate as their closest rivals, AS Pikine, who suffered a 2-0 defeat against the resurgent Casa Sports team last week.
Casa Sports, rejuvenated since the return of their former coach Demba Ramata Ndiaye, have demonstrated their determination to clinch the championship title. The two teams will also face each other in the Senegal Cup round of 16 next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, AS Pikine, who are trailing behind Jaraaf with 33 points, will face Yeggo, currently at the bottom of the table but having qualified for the league cup semi-finals.
In other matches, DUC, currently in a precarious position with 19 points, will face USO, who are third in the standings with 30 points. Port, currently fourth with 29 points, will take on Stade Mbour, who are seventh with 26 points.
