Rayon Sport narrowly missed out on the championship title, losing to their perennial rivals APR. Despite this setback, they have the opportunity to clinch the Rwanda Cup as they are set to compete in the final this coming June.
However, the team will have to manage without their coach, Luc Eymael, on the sidelines. The Belgian coach, who achieved an impressive record during the return phase with 34 points out of a possible 39, scoring 32 goals and conceding only 13, has left the club due to unpaid wages.
Eymael is owed two months’ worth of salary, and with the club unable to settle these arrears before his contract expires in June, the coach was forced to depart.
