Asamoah Gyan continues to shine for Al-Ain. In a recent match against Al-Jazeera, he scored his 8th goal in seven Asian Champions League matches, contributing to a 2-1 victory. Since joining Al-Ain from Sunderland in 2011, the Ghanaian international has scored an impressive 100 goals for the club. Despite leaving the English Premier League for the Gulf, Gyan feels his decision was justified.
“Since I’ve been here, my statistics with the national team have improved. I score a lot more than before, and I also finished as the top scorer in the World Cup qualifiers,” Gyan said in comments reported by goal.com.
He also emphasized the competitiveness of the UAE championship, stating that it “remains very tough” and that he is “one of the best in the Gulf at the moment.”
When Gyan made the move to Al-Ain at the age of 26, it raised eyebrows among many who doubted his choice to join a club in a minor league. However, he has proven that he can remain competitive and successful in this setting.
