The race for promotion in Ligue 2 is heating up with Lens suffering a setback in their quest for promotion. A 0-1 defeat at home to Brest has delayed their promotion celebrations. Nancy’s victory against Angers means they are now just two points behind Lens in the standings.
Antoine Kombouaré, the coach of RC Lens, acknowledged the disappointment but remains focused on the final match against CA Bastia: “We would have preferred to secure promotion earlier, but we have to accept the situation. We are preparing for the final match against CA Bastia and will give our best to secure promotion.”
RC Lens is currently third in the table, level on points with Caen, and both teams are two points ahead of Nancy. The fight for promotion and safety will go down to the wire in the final matches of the season.
