Manchester United concluded their season at Old Trafford in impressive fashion, securing a 3-1 victory over Hull City in a late match. Interim manager Ryan Giggs surprised many by fielding a starting eleven that included two young debutants.
One of these debutants, James Wilson, emerged as the star of the evening by scoring two goals before being substituted. However, the highlight of the match came in the 70th minute when Giggs himself entered the field to play, likely for the last time at Old Trafford. In doing so, Giggs became the first Manchester United manager to participate in an official match since 1927, following in the footsteps of Clarence Hilditch. Giggs, at 40 years old, seized the opportunity to deliver an influential pass to Robin Van Persie, leading to United’s third goal.
With this victory, Manchester United still have a chance to secure the Europa League title this season, despite the challenges they faced, including the dismissal of David Moyes, who was appointed as the successor to Sir Alex Ferguson.
