Javier Zanetti, after a remarkable career filled with titles and memorable moments, has made the difficult decision to retire from professional football. At 40 years old, the Argentine footballer, who remained in peak physical condition, has decided to hang up his boots and bid farewell to Inter Milan.
In an interview with the Argentine daily La Nacion, Zanetti shared his thoughts on this momentous decision. “I felt that it was the end for me,” he expressed. Despite overcoming a serious injury and proving himself capable of returning to top form, he believes that now is the right time to step away from the game. “To retire when you feel at your best is priceless,” he added.
Although he will no longer be playing, Zanetti’s connection with Inter Milan will continue. He has announced his intention to join the club’s management, remaining closely involved with the team that holds a special place in his heart.
