Vincent Aboubakar, the striker for Lorient, is eager to make his mark in the upcoming World Cup with Cameroon. Reflecting on the previous tournament in South Africa in 2010, Aboubakar expressed his gratitude to then-coach Paul Le Guen for having faith in him and giving him the opportunity to represent his country on such a grand stage. He also praised the leadership of Cameroon’s captain, Samuel Eto’o, describing him as the cornerstone of the team.
“The 2010 World Cup in South Africa was truly a magnificent experience, especially since it was the first to be hosted in Africa. I owe a great deal of thanks to coach Paul Le Guen and his staff for believing in me and selecting me for the squad. Being included in the final 23-man roster was a huge responsibility, and it motivated me to give my best on the field. Although I didn’t manage to score, it was an invaluable learning experience for me, as I had the opportunity to compete alongside some of the finest attackers and players in the world.”
“Eto’o is undoubtedly the heart and soul of our team. His leadership on and off the pitch is unparalleled, and he has a tremendous influence not only on our squad but also on our opponents. He sets a remarkable example for the aspiring young players of Cameroon, and it’s crucial for us to heed his wisdom and guidance.”
