Kouko Guehi, the Ivorian midfielder currently playing for Raja Casablanca, may soon have the opportunity to represent his adopted country, Morocco. Since February, Guehi has submitted a request for naturalization to King Mohammed VI of Morocco, and local media reports suggest that the request could be successful.
Guehi, who played a significant role in Raja Casablanca’s impressive performance at the last Club World Cup, expressed his willingness to represent Morocco if his naturalization is approved. He considers Morocco his second home and expressed his excitement at the prospect of wearing the colors of the Atlas Lions, especially with the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in sight.
Should his naturalization be granted, Guehi would have the opportunity to contribute to Moroccan football and potentially participate in international tournaments representing his adopted nation.
