Eliaquim Mangala, a priority target for Manchester City last summer, remained at Porto despite their interest. However, Manuel Pellegrini’s side hasn’t abandoned their pursuit of the French defender. Manchester United, City’s cross-town rivals, are also keen on acquiring Mangala.
According to the Manchester Evening News, both Manchester clubs are engaged in a direct battle to secure the services of Mangala. It remains uncertain which of the two teams will ultimately succeed in signing him.
Yet, acquiring Mangala won’t come cheap as Porto values him highly. In the past two transfer windows, Manchester City made attempts to sign him, offering €37 million, but Porto declined to sell their player.
