Kamara Ibrahim, now coaching the Ivory Coast under-20 team, aims to elevate the image of Ivorian junior football.
“I want to contribute to ensuring a strong future for Ivorian football. Ivory Coast possesses abundant talent. It’s our responsibility to maintain the consistency of Ivorian football at the highest level across all age categories,” stated César Lambert’s successor, Amani Yao.
Having previously achieved success as the coach of the U17 team, winning the 2013 African Cadet Cup in Morocco and reaching the quarter-finals at the U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, Kamara Ibrahim aims to continue his accomplishments with the junior team.
His immediate goal is to secure qualification for the 2015 CAN in Senegal. The team has already progressed to the second round of qualifiers after Guinea-Bissau withdrew.
In their ongoing efforts, the Éléphanteaux will face Mali’s Aiglons in a friendly match this weekend in Abidjan.
