Manchester United has appointed Louis Van Gaal as their new manager, as reported by the newspaper De Telegraaf on Saturday. Van Gaal, the current coach of the Netherlands national team, will assume the position after the 2014 World Cup. He is 62 years old.
This decision comes after the dismissal of David Moyes earlier in the week, leaving Manchester United without a manager. Ryan Giggs has been appointed as the interim head of the Red Devils until the end of the season.
Van Gaal, who has previously managed clubs like Ajax, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich, is expected to receive a budget of 100 million euros to strengthen the team. He will be replaced as the Dutch national coach by Guus Hiddink after the World Cup.
