In the semi-finals of the first edition of the President’s Cup, Benin and Mali emerged victorious to secure their spots in the final. However, the host country, Togo, suffered a crushing 0-4 defeat against Mali, much to the disappointment of the home crowd.

The match saw an uncharacteristically poor performance from the Togolese U-17 team, as Mali dominated from the outset. Traoré capitalized on a goalkeeper error to score the opening goal within the first minute, and he doubled Mali’s lead in the 15th minute. Despite Togo’s efforts, the Aiglons managed to score a third goal before halftime.

In the second half, Mali continued their dominance, adding a fourth goal to seal their victory and extinguish any hopes of a Togolese comeback.

In the other semi-final, Nigeria and Benin played to a 1-1 draw after extra time, leading to a penalty shootout. Benin emerged victorious, setting up a final showdown with Mali.

Before the final, Togo will face Nigeria in the match for third place.
