Samuel Umtiti, the Franco-Cameroonian defender, is potentially on the verge of leaving Olympique Lyonnais next season. With several Ligue 1 clubs expressing interest, Umtiti’s talents have also caught the eye of clubs outside of France, particularly in Italy where Napoli is closely monitoring his situation.
During an interview on an Italian radio station, Umtiti’s agent, Frédéric Guerra, discussed the possibility of a summer transfer. He confirmed ongoing discussions with Riccardo Bigon, Napoli’s sporting director, stating, “I’ve had talks about it. He’s a valuable player who’s continuously progressing and versatile. If Napoli were to make an offer, he would consider it.”
The Yaoundé native is currently under contract with Les Gones until 2017.
