In the last day of the group stages of the 2014 President Cup held on Wednesday in Lomé, Nigeria secured another victory over Mali with a 2-0 scoreline, replicating their success from the previous encounter between the two teams.
Grouped in Pool B, Nigeria and Mali faced each other again due to the last-minute withdrawal of Niger, which left the two remaining teams to determine their final standings. Nigeria, under the guidance of coach Emmanuel Amunike, demonstrated a dynamic and disciplined performance throughout the match. After a goalless first half, Nigeria intensified their attacks in the second half, resulting in goals from Orji Okonkwo and Kehinde Ayinde.
With this win, Nigeria topped Group B with 6 points, while Mali finished without any points.
