It’s Benzegoal time at the Santiago Bernabeu! Real Madrid fans have reason to smile as their team leads 1-0 at halftime. Karim Benzema found the back of the net in the 19th minute, giving Carlo Ancelotti’s men the advantage.
The goal came from a swift counter-attack initiated by Cristiano Ronaldo, who played a precise pass to Fabio Coentrao on the left flank. Coentrao’s cross found Benzema unmarked at the far post, and the French striker made no mistake with his finish.
Real almost doubled their lead shortly afterward, with Benzema turning provider for Ronaldo. However, the Portuguese star couldn’t convert Benzema’s cross, sending his shot wide after a deflection.
Despite Bayern Munich enjoying 78% possession, they haven’t been able to find an equalizer. The second half promises more action, so stay tuned!
