Mathieu Dossevi had a distressing weekend. Following Valenciennes’ heavy defeat against Nantes (6-2), which significantly jeopardized their chances of avoiding relegation, Dossevi experienced a frightening incident on Sunday. The striker from the northern club became the victim of a carjacking.
Reported by La Voix du Nord, the attack occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday night. Dossevi, a Franco-Togolese attacking midfielder, was about to head to a nightclub with his brother in a Maserati when an Audi parked in front of their vehicle. Two masked individuals emerged from the Audi, spraying tear gas at the brothers. They then forced Dossevi and his brother out of the Maserati before fleeing with the vehicle. An immediate investigation was launched into the incident.
