Mustapha Yatabaré, hailed as a hero after his remarkable performance in the Coupe de France semi-final against Monaco where he scored a crucial double, found himself at the police station alongside his friends.
The Malian footballer intervened to demand the release of his friends, as they had plans to dine together at his home following their team’s qualification.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 1 a.m. when the four friends, residing in Beauvais, were apprehended by the police while traveling in a car reported stolen. They were subsequently taken to the Saint-Brieuc police station for questioning and held in police custody.
However, only Yatabaré’s wish to have his friends released was not fulfilled. He had to leave the police station without them, as they were released later on Thursday afternoon.
