A delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has been present in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, since April 12. Côte d’Ivoire has declared its candidacy to host either the 2019 or 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
During their visit, CAF emissaries are evaluating the quality of the existing infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire and identifying areas where improvements may be needed to meet the requirements for hosting the tournament. Similar inspections are also being conducted in Guinea, another country vying to host the CAN.
The assessment conducted by the CAF delegation will play a crucial role in determining whether Côte d’Ivoire’s bid to host the tournament will be successful. As the evaluation process continues, both countries await the outcome of CAF’s assessment to ascertain their chances of hosting the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations.
