Mamadou Samassa, the goalkeeper for Guingamp, may be making a move from Brittany to the English league. France Football reports that the Malian international is being targeted by Crystal Palace. Samassa is currently under contract with En Avant until June 2015. The 24-year-old goalkeeper, who plays for the Malian national team, has attracted attention from several Premier League and Championship teams in England. So far, Samassa has played 13 matches in Ligue 1.
Samassa, who was trained at Guingamp, made his debut for the first team during the first round of the Coupe de la Ligue against Grenoble. He quickly became a regular in Guingamp’s goal, playing 38 out of 40 matches in the National league and contributing significantly to the club’s promotion to Ligue 2.
