Steed Malbranque increased the lead in the 48th minute, and Gomis scored his third goal in the 72nd minute. Marseille’s Loïc Rémy managed to score a consolation goal in the 77th minute. Lyon’s victory temporarily placed them at the top of the French Ligue 1 table ahead of PSG and OM. Marseille’s coach, Elie Baup, acknowledged the difficulties of the match and highlighted the need to move forward and focus on the next game against Brest.
