The eighth edition of the International Sports Convention in Africa (CISA), organized by Jappo SA, is set to take place from May 1 to 3, 2014, in Cape Verde. Specifically, it will be held on the Island of Sal, one of the smallest but oldest islands in the country, covering an area of only 216 km2.
After being hosted by countries like Senegal (twice), Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Morocco, and Mali, Cape Verde will now host this significant event in African sports.
The convention will feature the participation of distinguished figures from the global and African sporting community, including General Lassana Palenfo of ANOCA, Léon Alfred Opimbat (Congolese Minister of Sports), and Béatrice Allen (CIO Gambia), among others.
Various themes will be discussed during the event, ranging from the development of African tourism to the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the African Games with Congo in 2015. Additionally, discussions will cover topics like the revision of the world anti-doping code and Africa’s response to it.
The convention expects nearly a hundred participants to engage in these discussions and initiatives aimed at advancing African sports.
