Barcelona took an early lead with Messi converting a penalty in the 15th minute. Despite Bétis Sevilla scoring shortly after the break through Figueras, followed by another goal from Castro, Barcelona remained in control. Messi then sealed the victory with another penalty, marking his 25th goal of the season.
As FC Barcelona gears up for a challenging trip to Madrid to face Atletico in the Champions League on Wednesday, they maintain their position in the title race.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, travels to Real Sociedad as they strive to keep pace with their competitors in the league standings.
