Financial crisis hits Ittihad Tanger Football Club

IRT 768x512 1

Ittihad Tanger football club has been engulfed in a deepening financial crisis over recent seasons, causing frustration among players and adversely impacting their focus during training sessions and matches, with several contemplating a switch to other clubs at the end of the season.

According to sources familiar with the matter, players of “The Knights of Bouregreg” have once again expressed their concern over the team’s financial situation, stating that the prolonged delay in receiving their dues has become intolerable.

The same source highlighted that players owe the current management a sum of overdue salaries and bonuses, noting that despite their protest by boycotting training sessions weeks ago, it has not yielded any positive response from the club’s officials.

It was further added that the majority of Ittihad Tanger players are awaiting the conclusion of the current season to seek transfers to other clubs, with some intending to resort to dispute resolution committees to claim their outstanding financial entitlements from the team.

Ittihad Tanger bid farewell to the Throne Cup competition in the round of 32 after losing on penalties to Maghreb Athletic Fes. Currently, they occupy the 12th position in the Professional League standings with 24 points.
