Aka Malan, the secretary general of UFOA, announced that 14 CAF referees would oversee the matches.
“We have officially requested referees from CAF, the sole authority for referee appointments. CAF will liaise with the arbitration commission to select the referees. The pool will comprise 14 referees, including representatives from participating and non-participating nations, ensuring impartiality.”
The President Cup coincides with Togo’s Independence Day, celebrated annually on April 27. The draw placed the six countries into two groups:
Group A: Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast Group B: Nigeria, Niger, Mali
The tournament kicks off on April 19 with Togo facing Benin.
