Standard Liège will rely on all its resources during the Belgian championship playoffs.
The return to training of Geoffrey Mujangi Bia is a welcome development for the Rouches. Despite not being fully match-fit yet, his availability adds depth to the squad for the remainder of the competition.
Mujangi Bia, hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo, has resumed collective training this week. However, he is unlikely to feature in Standard’s upcoming fixture against Zulte Waregem on Friday. Dr. Jean Vervier, the club’s physician, confirmed Mujangi Bia’s status on the club’s website, stating, “Mujangi Bia is not yet at full fitness for the second playoff match this Friday against Zulte Waregem. Our aim is to have him fully ready for the third match against Genk.”
Mujangi Bia sustained a thigh injury during the clash against FC Bruges on March 2. His return to action is timely, especially considering the potential suspension of Mehdi Carcela.
