Georges Leekens, recently appointed as coach of the Carthage Eagles, is wasting no time in getting down to business. The Belgian tactician, who was previously in Togo and had applied to succeed Didier Six, has announced his intention to attend the upcoming match between Club Sportif Sfaxien and Esperance de Tunis on the 23rd day of competition.
Despite his recent appointment, Leekens has yet to set foot on Tunisian soil. However, he is scheduled to arrive in Tunis on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. “I took some time away to explore other opportunities and have been traveling extensively. But ultimately, football is where my heart lies,” he shared with RFI. “Taking on the challenge of leading a national team is something I am truly passionate about.”
