Frédéric Oumar Kanouté, nearing retirement, remains actively involved in various charitable and football-related activities across Africa. Recently, he has been bestowed with a significant responsibility by the Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT) – that of being the Ambassador of Malian football worldwide.
Recognizing Kanouté’s contributions to local football in Mali, FEMAFOOT has entrusted him with several key missions. These include promoting and training young players, coaches, and technical staff, supporting the federation’s initiatives with partners, seeking sponsors for national teams, organizing friendly matches, assisting technical staff during player gatherings, especially for international competitions, and facilitating the integration of binational players into national teams.
Throughout his illustrious career, Kanouté has played for renowned clubs such as Lyon, West Ham, Tottenham, Sevilla FC, and Beijing Guoan in China.
