André Villas-Boas, the former manager of Tottenham Hotspur, was reportedly considered as a potential candidate to succeed José Anigo at Olympique de Marseille for the upcoming season. Marseille president Vincent Labrune had been contemplating Villas-Boas for the managerial role, but the Portuguese tactician ultimately decided to join Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Labrune cited the inability to provide guarantees regarding the club’s recruitment plans for the upcoming summer as the reason behind Villas-Boas’s decision.
