Mbaye Leye’s misfortune continues this season as he faces yet another setback. After returning from a lengthy injury that kept him out of the Belgian championship for over six months, the Zulte-Waregem player suffered another injury last Saturday, dealing a blow to the Senegalese striker.
According to the official website of the Jupiler Pro League club, initial examinations reveal that Leye has sustained a torn hamstring. However, further tests scheduled for this Tuesday will determine the extent of his absence. It is anticipated that the 31-year-old striker will be sidelined for several weeks.
Leye sustained his injury during the Belgian Cup final, where Zulte-Waregem lost 1-0 to Lokeren. Following the match, he took to Twitter to announce his expected absence from play for a few weeks.
