Is there an end in sight for the crisis at the FRMF (Royal Moroccan Football Federation)? After being embroiled in an unprecedented internal turmoil for several months, signs point to a potential resolution following the elections set for April 13. This was highlighted during the statutory general meeting held on March 23.
The previous elections for the FRMF, held on November 10, 2013, were nullified by FIFA due to non-compliance with statutes. Similarly, Morocco faces challenges with its national team, where many key figures are either unwanted or in conflict with the coach, notably Captain Mehdi Benatia.
Morocco is banking on the April 13 elections to usher in a new era, particularly in preparation for hosting the CAN 2015 tournament scheduled in the Shereef kingdom from January 17 to February 7, 2015.
