As the Football World Cup approaches, Ghana coach Kwesi James Appiah is not intimidated by Cristiano Ronaldo, the star of Portugal. In an interview with 90minutes, the Ghanaian technician expressed his confidence, stating that his team is not afraid of Ronaldo or any other opponent in their group.
“We are not afraid of Ronaldo. No way. We are preparing to face all the teams in our group because we are not only going to play against Ronaldo,” said Appiah, who previously served as an assistant coach at the 2010 World Cup.
Appiah emphasized that while Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world and important for the Portuguese team, Ghana will not be distracted by him. He acknowledged the challenge of facing strong opponents like Portugal, Germany, and the United States in their group but emphasized the importance of preparation and the belief that every team in the World Cup deserves respect.
In Brazil, Ghana will compete in Group G alongside Portugal, Germany, and the United States.
