While Messi’s demands have presented challenges in recent months, Javier Faust, the club’s financial director, remains optimistic about reaching an agreement with the Argentine star.
Speaking to TV3, Faust sought to reassure Barcelona supporters, emphasizing ongoing communication with Messi’s father, Jorge Messi. Faust stated, “We are in constant dialogue with Jorge Messi, and discussions regarding Messi’s contract are primarily between Bartomeu and Messi’s father. Let Barcelona fans rest assured; we are all confident that Messi will retire in the Barça jersey.”
