The Ghanaian government made an announcement on Monday regarding financial support for the Ghana Football Federation ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. They approved the release of 10,500,000 Ghana Cedis to finance Ghana’s participation in the group stage of the tournament. Additionally, an extra amount of 14,177,025 Cedis was allocated to cover expenses if the team progresses to the later stages of the competition.
In total, the government is prepared to provide up to 24,677,025 Cedis (approximately 9 million Euros) to support the Black Stars’ journey to Brazil in June.
Preparations for the World Cup include training sessions for the Black Stars, who will face tough competition in their group against Portugal, Germany, and the USA. The team is scheduled to undergo their first training camp starting from May 31 in Rotterdam, where they will also play a friendly match against the Netherlands.
Ghana has made significant strides in their recent World Cup campaigns, notably reaching the quarter-finals in 2010, marking a historic achievement for the team.
