OLAITAN, BONG, NDINGA: THE AFRICAN CHAMPIONS OF GREECE WITH OLYMPIACOS!

It’s undoubtedly one of the earliest European championships to reach its conclusion. Olympiacos clinched their 41st national title on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Panthrakikos, courtesy of goals from Nelson Valdéz and David Fuster. This triumph comes five days before the conclusion of the championship.

The success is particularly significant for the numerous Africans in the Thrylos squad. Despite the absence of Nigerian Michael Olaitan, who has been sidelined due to injury and illness since March 2, players like Cameroonian Gaétan Bong and Congolese Delvin Ndinga can celebrate their contribution to securing the first ticket for the Champions League 2014-2015 season.

Additionally, credit for this title can also be attributed to Malian Sambou Yatabaré (now with Bastia) and Algerian Carl Medjani (formerly with Valenciennes), who started the season with Olympiacos before being loaned out due to lack of playing time.

Olympiacos can continue their successful season by aiming for a spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. They hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg against Manchester United, with the second leg scheduled for Wednesday.
