Uli Hoeness, the president of Bayern Munich, had a week to appeal after being sentenced to three and a half years in prison on Thursday. However, the suspense didn’t last long.
On Friday, Hoeness announced that he would not appeal the decision. “I have instructed my lawyers not to appeal. This decision aligns with my principles of decency and responsibility,” he stated.
Hoeness has also resigned from his position at the Bavarian club and will step down immediately to begin serving his prison sentence. Nevertheless, his connection with Bayern remains strong. “Bayern is the story of my life, and it will always hold a special place in my heart,” the former German international expressed in his press release.
