Reacting impressively to the setback in the 3rd minute, Lyon netted goals through Gueïda Fofana (13th, 70th), Alexandre Lacazette (53rd), and Arnold Mvuemba (61st).
“It’s true that winning 4-1 puts us in a good position. However, in football, nothing is certain. We shouldn’t get too carried away; there’s still the return leg. But we’ve shown significant improvement. It’s satisfying to see our reaction. Playing at home, we had to dominate. We benefited from a good pitch and a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium. After conceding early, we had to regroup. We created numerous chances, especially from set pieces. Our focus was on scoring and securing the win,” Arnold Mvuemba shared with L’Equipe.
Scoring Lyon’s third goal, the former Lorient player demonstrated his effectiveness in midfield. Despite starting only six times in Ligue 1 this season, Mvuemba expressed his joy, stating, “It’s always gratifying to score. However, I prefer not to focus on myself; what matters most is that the team secured the victory and achieved a commendable result.”
