While a shortlist of three candidates has been mentioned, speculation surrounding the new coach of Tunisia is rampant. In an interview with gnet, the former coach of Stade Tunisien asserted that the identity of the coach is already known, dismissing the rest as mere theatrics: “It’s all a show! I know that the coach has already been chosen. The president of the FTF made the decision long ago. Every week, we are presented with new candidates and negotiations to create the illusion that the decision has not been finalized.”
The successor to Nizar Khanfir will be announced next Saturday, with the leading contender being a Frenchman, and there is a strong likelihood that it will be a former coach of the French national team. Among the shortlisted candidates, Paul Le Guen and Jacques Santini are prominent figures, alongside Hervé Renard, Sami Trabelsi, and Georges Leekens.
Hervé Renard had previously stated his availability at the end of the season.
